Logical or Poetic

I came across this story via the on-line new scientist blog.

I initially see the girl spinning anti-clockwise, but after watching for a while she will change direction of spin.
Very strange. The gif image is made up of 34 frames, and when watched frame by frame the image is indeed set in an anti-clockwise direction. So what is going on.
